Interactive Virtual Reality Event: "Virtual Threat...Real Sweat, DC 2011"
True Simulation Training for Emergency Management
SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., June 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Environmental Tectonics Corporation's (OTC Bulletin Board: ETCC) ("ETC" or the "Company") Simulation Division, located in Orlando, FL, is pleased to announce that they will be hosting a two day, hands-on demonstration of the Advanced Disaster Management Simulator (ADMS) in Washington, D.C. This important industry event, "Virtual Threat...Real Sweat, DC 2011" will take place on June 22 - 23, 2011 and is being held simultaneously with the Annual Capitol Hill Modeling and Simulation Caucus.
Attendees will experience a 3D virtual reality simulation and develop an understanding of the many benefits this cutting-edge technology training solution brings to the emergency management community. Early registration shows interest coming from a broad range of agencies and organizations including key governmental officials, public safety and security professionals, academic and training staff, and private sector companies with a focus on emergency management as it pertains to their specific industry threats.
The event will offer attendees the opportunity to interactively participate and test their incident command skills when faced with a variety of different scenarios. ETC Simulation plans to showcase exercises that are of the highest priority to national and homeland security personnel including terrorist-related activity, large scale disasters and HAZMAT situations.
"The opportunity to demonstrate ADMS at this event is very exciting," said Seth Foster, Vice President of ETC Simulation. "Many organizations believe that all simulation training is the same, when in fact there are very few 'true' simulation systems available. Emergency management professionals will see, hear and experience first-hand the core capabilities that make ADMS unique in the marketplace. ADMS is simulation, not animation. The embedded physics, artificial intelligence and dynamic open-ended scenarios provide a hyper-realistic experience, which makes a difference during the learning process and ultimately in the on-scene performance of our response community."
Preparing for, responding to and recovering from 21st century threats requires a high level of skill and proficiency. Practical experience is an essential component in developing confident responders who are prepared to take command of any incident that arises. ADMS is a powerfully immersive training platform used globally by emergency management and disaster preparedness professionals during all stages of the preparedness cycle, and is used as an integral tool in planning, rehearsing, assessing and improving their response plans. The ability to train and retrain, with real-time consequences to their decisions, makes ADMS an efficient and cost-effective solution for organizations needing to enhance their training curriculum.
For more information or to register for a demonstration, please visit the event website or contact us at [email protected]. Seating for demonstrations is limited and will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis. Please be sure to indicate time and date preferences.
