WASHINGTON, June 1, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- InterAction—the largest U.S. alliance of NGOs working to make the world a more peaceful, just and prosperous place—will host its 31st annual Forum in Washington, D.C. from June 22-24. The deadline for online public registration is June 5.
Since 1984, InterAction has brought together students, professionals and leading thinkers for a three-day event focused around advancing collaboration, effectiveness and innovation on efforts to end global poverty and build a more sustainable and equitable future. More than 1,000 attendees from more than 350 organizations will participate in this year's Forum.
Forum 2015 will feature four plenary sessions with remarks from high-level speakers—including New York University's Bill Easterly, UN Special Rapporteur on the Rights to Freedom of Peaceful Assembly and Association Maina Kiai, Special Advisor of the UN Secretary General on Post-2015 Development Planning Amina Mohammed and Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes.
Forum 2015 also will host over 50 workshops exploring topics such as: improving transparency and accountability, maximizing communications and outreach efforts and building effective partnerships across the public, private and nonprofit sectors.
For graduate students and young professionals, the Young Professionals Summit will provide an outlet to reflect upon the challenges they face and offer concrete suggestions to move ahead in pursuing a career in international development or humanitarian relief.
