Inteplast Group Makes Donation to Ebola Efforts in Africa
LIVINGSTON, N.J., Sept. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Inteplast Group is making a donation of two pallets of medical grade exam gloves to help protect healthcare workers in the efforts to stem the Ebola epidemic in Africa. These gloves are part of the portfolio of products offered through the IBS Division of Inteplast Group. This donation is given through MedShare, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving healthcare and the environment through the efficient recovery and redistribution of surplus of medical supplies and equipment to those most in need. In this case the relief efforts in Africa are the recipient.
Bennett Hellming, General Manager of Inteplast subsidiary, MiniGrip Commercial LLC, initiated the idea for the donation after reading news reports of deaths occurring for lack healthcare workers having gloves. Hellming said, "It was shocking to learn that a basic medical supply such as gloves was preventing healthcare providers from rendering needed aid. I felt our company could certainly do something to help solve this."
The donation consists of 60,000 pairs of gloves and will be included with other items sent by MedShare to boost the aid efforts in east and Central Africa.
