Intelligent Waves LLC Makes Donation to Wounded Warrior Project
RESTON, Va., Jan. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Intelligent Waves LLC (IW), President, Jared Shepard presented a check for $111,200 to Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) at their Washington, D.C. offices on December 15, 2010. The check was received by General Ray Odierno, Commander of U.S. Joint Forces Command and former Iraq Theater Commander. General Odierno, an established supporter of WWP and father of a wounded warrior, expressed his appreciation on behalf of WWP for the substantial donation from such a small business. Presenting the check, Jared Shepard stated, "To our wounded warriors; words alone, written or spoken, are insufficient to express my appreciation, the appreciation of my team, and the appreciation of the people in this room I know and respect. I am proud to present this check to WWP as a very small way to show that appreciation. We are able to be here today thanks to the effort of warriors serving overseas."
IW employees proudly serve alongside the U.S. military in their combat operations in Afghanistan and Iraq today and truly embraced donating to such a noble cause as Wounded Warrior Project. IW hopes to sustain a lasting relationship with WWP, together working a plan to expand its support of wounded warriors by offering IT training and mentorship in the near future and continue corporate support and corporate fund matching for 2011.
The funds donated by Intelligent Waves will go to support WWP's innovative programs and services. Over 40,000 of our nation's armed forces have been physically wounded during the current military conflicts. Hundreds of thousands more are estimated to be recovering from invisible wounds of war, including post-traumatic stress disorder, major depression, and traumatic brain injury. WWP assists wounded warriors and their families through a holistic approach to their recovery. Whether through caregiver retreats, combat stress programs, career and education services, or adaptive sporting opportunities, WWP empowers warriors with the tools essential to not just survive their injuries but to thrive and achieve personal and professional success.
