Intelligent Security Systems' SecurOS Platform for Safe Cities Continues Worldwide Expansion
All-in-One Security Platform with Roots in Space Technology Now Being Used to Fight Crime in Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Mexico, Russia and the United States
WOODBRIDGE, N.J., March 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Intelligent Security Systems (ISS), a leader in video management and image analytic software, announced today that its SecurOS platform for Safe Cities has expanded into several new countries: Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Mexico, Russia, and the United States. This city surveillance system is currently being deployed in 16 nations. The true open architecture of its software allows it to address the wide range of urban security threats, take on policing and citizen assistance roles, and be completely fail-safe. In addition, the company's roots in space technology and expertise with advanced algorithms have made possible unprecedented advances in image analytics that provide a level of pinpoint accuracy that was previously only available for military and government applications, such as for the Department of Homeland Security.
The SecurOS platform can be used for networks of unlimited scope (cameras, devices, systems, etc) and for many different functions, including intelligent event management, multi zone motion detection to pinpoint activity, tracking, face capture and recognition, notification of suspicious activity, and advanced license plate recognition (LPR) methods. It includes centralized management and multiple methods of alarm notification, such as email, pager, mobile phone, and landline phone.
"The SecurOS platform is gaining such widespread worldwide adoption due its true open architecture and unique ability to address such a wide array of needs," said Aluisio Figueiredo, Chief Operating Officer of ISS. "In addition, because so much of our technology is developed in house, we not only offer a one stop shop for urban security needs, but also do so in a cost effective way, no matter how big or small the deployment is. The level of knowledge here is also crucially important. Our research and development team's roots in space technology make it possible to constantly redefine and reinvent the capabilities of video management and image analytic software."
The SecurOS platform is designed to work with almost all existing IP and analog cameras. Its inherently scalable and flexible platform allows for gradual migration from analog to IP via digital encoders so that investments in legacy equipment can be maximized. One can start with just a few cameras and build out to hundreds or thousands over a period of time.
In Argentina, it is being deployed in the cities of Lujan, and La Plata, while in Brazil, Recife is currently one of the cities using the platform. The city of Cremona, Italy recently adopted the SecurOS platform as well as Saint Petersburg, Russia, Cancun, Mexico, and the cities of Watchung, Maplewood, and Bradley Beach in New Jersey. While the specific needs of each city vary somewhat, the common theme is that each city needed a unified platform that gives various municipal departments the ability to access and share information quickly, and in which highly intelligent, automated security features help deter crime as well as provide an indispensable forensic tool.
ISS will be at ISC West in Las Vegas from March 24th to March 26th at booth number 18077.
