Intel Honored with sfBIG Marketing Icon Award
Deborah Conrad, Intel CMO, Accepts Award at sfBIG Hal Riney Marketing Icons Dinner
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The San Francisco Bay Area Interactive Group (sfBIG), a 1000-member professional association of digital marketing professionals, will name Intel as the recipient of the sfBIG Marketing Icon Award at the third annual sfBIG Hal Riney Marketing Icons Dinner. The award recognizes and celebrates innovators in the Bay Area and the ceremony will take place at The Palace Hotel in San Francisco, Thursday, November 17.
sfBIG seeks to help foster and promote the digital marketing industry in the Bay Area by drawing attention to notable people, companies and ideas that come from the local market. Each year the organization recognizes an icon—a person, brand or company — from the industry that has contributed to the establishment of the Bay Area as the global leader in technology and marketing, and that has left a significant legacy from which others continue to benefit.
This year, the group is pleased to honor Intel with the Marketing Icon Award in recognition of its innovation and contributions to the foundations of computer technology, making the web and digital marketing industry possible via its technologies. The Intel brand grew from its roots in the Bay Area to become a global icon and one of the most recognized and respected brands in the world. The award will be accepted tomorrow by Deborah Conrad, Intel CMO, a global marketing leader who has been instrumental in creating the Intel story and the "Sponsors of Tomorrow" brand positioning.
"This is our signature event of the year," said Mike Parker, President of Tribal DDB and current President of sfBIG. "The Bay Area is home to people and companies that are changing the world. It's a great pleasure to be able to honor Intel and CMO Deborah Conrad. Intel has changed the world and our industry with their technology, and Deborah has helped make them one of the great brands of the world."
The annual gala dinner event was named after Hal Riney in recognition of his work towards developing the creative community and thriving marketing industry in San Francisco. In its year of inception the annual event recognized Jeff Goodby for his efforts in establishing his agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, and last year, the group recognized the founders of Wired magazine, represented by Louis Rosetto and Jane Metcalf.
