WASHINGTON, March 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Janus Global Operations (JGO), an integrated stability operations company, has named long time corporate executive and retired U.S. Army Colonel Nils C. "Chris" Sorenson as interim chief operating officer (COO), Matt Kaye, JGO president and CEO, has announced.

Sorenson served in the U.S. Army for 29 years, leading special operations in a variety of assignments within the U.S. Army Special Operations Command. He has joint staff experience at two Combatant Commands and led the Army's largest overseas garrison enterprise in Bavaria, Germany.
Sorenson has a BS from Texas A&M University and a MS from Central Michigan University. He is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute, the Army Command and General Staff College, and the Army War College as a resident Fellow with the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
Since retiring from the U.S. Army, Sorenson has served as a leader in companies that provide worldwide security, training, and managed services. He was the chief operating officer for Triple Canopy Inc., the chief of staff for Constellis Group Inc., and the president for ACADEMI LLC. Sorenson also served on the board for National Strategic Protective Services LLC, as well as the National Defense Industry Association's Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict division.
As COO, Sorenson assumes the duties formerly held by Alan Weakley, who departed JGO after a successful three-year tenure that saw the firm make a number of acquisitions and enter several new markets.
