Insureon Announces Latest Winners of Small Business, Big Impact Scholarship

Clare Parrino and Zeke Rogen's winning essays earned them each $2,500 toward their educational expenses.

CHICAGO, Jan. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Insureon, the nation's leading online provider of small business insurance, today announced the winners of its latest scholarship competition: Clare Parrino of Kenner, Louisiana, and Zeke Rogen of South Salem, New York. Their essays were chosen from hundreds submitted. Each will receive $2,500 toward educational expenses.

Clare, who spent much of her high school career working at Reginelli's, an independent pizza restaurant, wrote about the steep learning curve as she negotiated the trials of serving tables and pitching in to help the restaurant's owners. Her essay noted how adapting her service to the many life events celebrated at Reginelli's taught her a lot about empathy and compassion, two things she knows will help her succeed in nursing, the field she has chosen to study.

Zeke's pet sitting business happened almost by accident, when a neighbor requested he watch her ornery rooster while she was on vacation. He realized he had a knack for taking care of other people's animals and soon built a clientele and a sterling reputation among his community. After graduating from college, Zeke plans to use the networking and relationship-building skills he developed as a pet-care provider to pursue a career as a sports agent.
