InsureMyTrip Offers New Nationwide Prime Plan To Protect Travelers Against Ebola Virus Disease
WARWICK, R.I., Oct. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In an unprecedented effort within the travel insurance industry, InsureMyTrip becomes the first travel insurance comparison site to offer new insurance benefits to help better protect travelers against Ebola.
Beginning today and available at InsureMyTrip, travelers will now have access to a newly updated plan by Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company. The popular Prime Plan from Nationwide now includes CDC travel warnings as covered reasons for Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption benefits.
"Our first priority is the health and safety of our travelers. We recognize a great need for additional protection due to the Ebola outbreak and are pleased to see enhancements to the Prime Plan," says Jim Grace CEO and President of InsureMyTrip.
TRIP CANCELLATION
The latest enhancements are designed to provide travelers with the option to cancel a trip in the event the CDC issues a travel warning to their destination prior to departure. The policy protects non-refundable expenses including penalties, fees and other costs you may incur due to cancellation. For full plan details, contact InsureMyTrip.
TRIP INTERRUPTION
The modified plan also provides coverage in the event an Ebola outbreak happens once travels begin. Under the policy, travelers would have the option to return home if the CDC issues a travel warning to their destination after arrival. Also protects insured trip costs and expenses including penalties, fees and other costs that may be incurred as a result. For full plan details, contact InsureMyTrip.
ABOUT CDC TRAVEL NOTICES
Travel notices from the CDC are designed to inform travelers and clinicians about current health issues related to specific destinations. These issues may arise from disease outbreaks, special events or gatherings, natural disasters, or other conditions that may affect travelers' health.
Countries that are currently under CDC travel warnings due to unprecedented outbreaks of Ebola are ineligible for coverage. As of October 24, 2014, this list includes only Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone.
