Insurance Commissioner Ario Offers Condolences on the Death of Herbert S. Denenberg, Former Insurance Commissioner
HARRISBURG, Pa., March 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner Joel Ario today expressed condolences on the death of Herb Denenberg, who served as state insurance commissioner from 1971 to 1974:
"On behalf of the Insurance Department, I was saddened to learn of the passing of Herb Denenberg, a true consumer advocate.
Herb served as commissioner with one goal and focus: to fight for the rights and protections of the insurance-buying public. He was steadfast in his fight to protect the consumers of this commonwealth, often taking on large insurance companies and challenging them to do what was right.
His tenacity and fight for the rights of all Pennsylvania consumers continued well beyond his years of public service. He paved the way and demonstrated to us that we are here to serve the citizens of Pennsylvania. We are grateful for the lifelong dedication of this true public servant."
Denenberg was 81 and is survived by his wife, Naomi.
