Institute for Child & Family Health (ICFH) Awarded $100,000 Grant from Health Foundation of South Florida
Funding to develop health information technology infrastructure and expand the use of electronic health records
MIAMI, Dec. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Institute for Child and Family Health (ICFH) has received a $100,000 grant from Health Foundation of South Florida to implement electronic health records for the organization's behavioral health services. The grant funding will be used to develop health information technology infrastructure and expand the use of electronic health records. Health information technology holds the promise of managing care across the multiple service inputs, documenting appropriate clinical practices, and tracking preventative care over time.
"Electronic health records improve quality, accountability, and cost effectiveness of health care services," said Robert D. Nolan, Ph.D., Executive Director for ICFH. "This grant will assist us with purchasing, system implementation, and training."
By facilitating non replication of services and the sharing of critical health information, electronic health records can avoid excessive costs, promote efficiencies, and enhance quality of care.
