'Instant Heart Rate Pro' Chosen as Top 100 Android App
Azumio's Instant Heart Rate will be promoted during Google's 10 Billion App Downloads
PALO ALTO, Calif., Dec. 13 , 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Azumio's Instant Heart Rate, a biofeedback-based heart rate monitor app for Android and iPhone devices, is joining the elite list of 100 chosen Android applications to be promoted for $0.10 over a period of ten days. Instant Heart Rate Pro, regularly priced at $2.99 will be listed on the Android store on December 13, 2011 at $0.10.
The Android Market has exceeded 10 billion downloads stating a "growth rate of one billion app downloads per month," on the Google Blog. This milestone is encouraging for the developer community and Azumio has invested in Android development accordingly.
"The Android marketplace has been a successful channel for Azumio applications to be discovered and downloaded by millions of users. We have been impressed with the usage rates of this community where we see a high rate of return users to the Instant Heart Rate app," said Azumio co-founder and CTO, Peter Kuhar.
The rapid adoption of the app in the Android Marketplace speaks to the active Android user and the growing numbers of Android phones in the marketplace. According to a recent article in eWeek, Android grabs 46% of the market share for smartphones. Coupled with the active Marketplace and Android's support in developer relations, Android has become a clear choice for Azumio's development roadmap.
In expansion of Azumio's Android plans, the company has also recently launched Stress Check in the Android Marketplace. Stress Check by Azumio is a free app that calculates user stress levels by detecting the user's peripheral heart pulse through a finger placed over the smartphone camera lens and analyzing the variability between heartbeats. The app converts the data into percentage stress levels; tags them as low, medium, high or extreme for easy interpretation.
