Inspur Previews Composable Infrastructure Platform at OCP Summit 2017
FREMONT, Calif., March 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Inspur, a leading cloud computing total solutions provider and Platinum member of Open Compute Project (OCP), will be showcasing a live technology demonstration of next generation Composable Infrastructure with Liqid Inc., at OCP Summit 2017.
Organizations, regardless of size or industry, are looking for infrastructure capabilities to keep pace with applications amidst accelerating demands for resources. Composable Infrastructure (CI) is ideally suited to this task, enabling data centers to continuously adapt to real time business requirements. Inspur's comprehensive portfolio of open hardware platforms are ready to power the private and public cloud infrastructure of today as well as the movement to CI on the horizon.
"Enabling IT infrastructure to physically adapt to application workloads in real time will introduce a massive shift in next generation data center architecture," said Dolly Wu, GM of Inspur US.
Traditional rack scale architectures have statically configured servers with predetermined amounts of Compute, Storage, and Networking resources. The technology demonstration will show the provisioning and reclamation of bare metal systems in seconds, allowing physical servers to be adjusted or 'composed' on demand.
"Composable Infrastructure moves us beyond the mechanical limitation of the motherboard-chassis paradigm," said Marius Tudor, Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Liqid. "Systems can be now assembled and scaled on the fly allowing us to rethink what's possible with infrastructure as a service (IaaS)."
The real time demonstration will consist of pools of disaggregated resources (CPU, SSD, NIC) interconnected to an ultra low latency fabric managed by Liqid's software for creation of bare metal servers. Physical servers can be dynamically configured to match the resources required by the target application in real time.
"Composable infrastructures will provide I&O leaders with simple, flexible resource utilization and faster application deployment via software-driven automation and templates" - Gartner
