Inspirus Credit Union moves its Seattle branch to Southcenter
SEATTLE, Sept. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Inspirus Credit Union (formerly School Employees Credit Union of Washington) has moved its Seattle branch and headquarters to 5200 Southcenter Boulevard.
The new location offers greater accessibility for many of the credit union's members, including more mass-transit options and easy access via Interstate 405, Interstate 5, and State Route 518. For decades, it had served members from offices at 325 Eastlake Ave. East in the PEMCO building along Interstate 5. The move was prompted by the sale of the building to Unico Properties earlier this year.
All of the 88 employees working at the credit union's Eastlake branch made the move to Southcenter. Besides accessibility, cost savings (locating outside the downtown core) was a key consideration for the member-owned, not-for-profit credit union in choosing its new home. The Southcenter location also offers more space for future growth and expansion of new technologies.
The address change will have little impact on many of the state's far-flung members who mostly rely on online, mobile, telephone, by-mail, and CO-OP Network shared-branching services to transact business.
The move culminated a year of transformation for the credit union as it expanded membership beyond its school employee core to include parents, students, volunteers, and everyone who shares a passion for education. The Inspirus name, announced Aug. 3, reflects that open membership and the credit union's recently updated mission, which focuses on giving back to the educational heroes who inspire excellence throughout the state's classrooms.
President Scott Adkins said the credit union is looking forward to getting to know its new neighbors and connecting with members at the Southcenter site.
