INOVA Geophysical successfully deploys mega channel broadband technology in Middle East
HOUSTON, Oct. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- INOVA Geophysical, in collaboration with BGP, the world's leading seismic contractor, are very proud to announce the successful delivery, deployment and start-up of a mega channel, broadband, high density, digital single sensor acquisition system on the West Kuwait 3D survey on behalf of the Kuwait Oil Company, KOC.
INOVA's G3i HD system has excelled in challenging circumstances, with 238,000 digital channels and 238,000 Accuseis SL11 digital sensors delivered in less than 6 months and now operating with over 190,000 live channels in real-time. This INOVA 3D mega system also includes several fleets of 80,000 lbs AHV-IV 380 Renegade vibrators, delivering high energy, low frequency signal in a broadband sweep configuration. To complete the package, acquisition control is managed by INOVA's Vib Pro HD controller, tightly integrated with iX1 central software to provide detailed and user-friendly source and receiver QC.
With this deployment of the full range of INOVA's technical portfolio in the Middle East region, INOVA is firmly established as the leading provider of broadband acquisition equipment to the onshore seismic acquisition market, which is now beginning to show signs of recovery after several lean years.
Further justifying the decision to continue to invest in R&D through the downturn, INOVA's CEO Glenn Hauer commented, "Our teams worldwide have worked incredibly hard to deliver this strategically important system and ensure a smooth start-up for the project. By working in close collaboration with BGP and KOC, we have been able to surpass expectations and deliver an integrated, technically advanced and operationally efficient system which is now acquiring high quality data in the field."
