Innovation Lab At KPMG Ignition Helps Clients Identify Next Disruption
SAN FRANCISCO, May 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- KPMG announced today the opening of its Innovation Lab at KPMG Ignition in San Francisco, where clients can understand from an outside-in perspective the signals of change that could lead to disruption. The lab is the latest addition to KPMG Ignition, the firm's nationwide network of innovation, insight and technology solution centers.
"I can't think of a better market to open this lab. The Bay Area is a hot-bed of innovation and disruption that is driving great change and presents a tremendous opportunity for our lab to help clients lead their organizations into the future with strengthened customer focus and operational excellence. Companies come to the Bay Area from across the globe to learn more about these forces and how technology can further accelerate their growth and transform their business," said Debbie Messemer, managing partner of KPMG's San Francisco market. "The lab helps our clients develop the breakthrough ideas they need to get ahead of their greatest challenges."
Located in downtown San Francisco, near KPMG's office, the Innovation Lab at KPMG Ignition helps clients identify business model disruption and innovation opportunities.

Powering the lab is a cross-generational and diverse KPMG team with deep industry expertise and specialization in areas like disruptive technology, the future of finance and the customer experience to name a few. The team employs design thinking to accelerate the organization's ability to drive from market signals, to hypotheses, to action. The lab applies leading-edge methods and research, including analysis of investment trends and company activities, and understanding the customer wallet and consumer behaviors to determine where the next wave of disruption may come from.
According to KPMG's 2016 CEO Study, 85 percent of business leaders said they need more time to strategize about how to foster innovation and proactively address disruptive challenges. The innovation lab addresses these challenges through immersive experiences, insights and technology, and resources that business leaders seek to move their companies forward, both now and in the future.
"The Innovation Lab at KPMG Ignition helps our clients from an outside-in perspective mine the signals of change that could lead to disruption. When the insights are coupled with innovation and investment, clients can be better positioned to stay ahead of disruption and fend off the competition," said Ann Armstrong, Principal, KPMG IT Advisory.
