AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Interactive energy platform developer, Innovari, announced today the addition of Brent Hodges as senior vice president of strategy and markets. Hodges brings over 14 years of smart grid experience to the firm which will bolster Innovari's ability to deliver innovative, best-in-class demand-side management projects both nationally and globally.

Hodges comes to Innovari following his three and a half year stint with energy management technology provider Tendril, where he served as the general manager of its Australia and Asia-Pacific territory before taking over as senior vice president of the company's retail business unit. In these roles, he was in charge of global sales and delivery of Tendril solutions while also focusing on marketing, business development and strategic direction.
Hodges has worked in a variety of management roles at some of the most successful companies in the energy industry. Prior to his time at Tendril, he was the director of smart energy strategy and development at Reliant Energy, the vice president of marketing and business development at ZigBee Alliance and the business development director at Ember Corporation.

He has also previously served on the Governing Board of the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP), the Board of Directors for the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB) and the ZigBee Alliance.
Hodges earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University, a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
