Ingram Micro Names Scott Sherman Executive Vice President, Human Resources
SANTA ANA, Calif., March 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) today announced the appointment of Scott D. Sherman as the company's new executive vice president, human resources, effective May 1, 2015. Sherman will succeed Lynn Jolliffe who announced her retirement earlier this week following more than 15 years of senior leadership at Ingram Micro. Sherman joins Ingram Micro with more than 20 years of human resources leadership experience, the past four-and-a-half years at Allergan Inc. where he served as executive vice president of human resources and as a member of the executive committee for the global multi-specialty health care company. During his tenure at Allergan, Sherman oversaw a rationalization of the global rewards and talent programs that supported an increase in retention of key performers and a significant recruiting cycle-time reduction; a global expansion with a focus on emerging markets in Asia, Central/Eastern Europe, and South Africa; and implementation of a global sales incentive philosophy.
"Scott is a highly seasoned human resources executive who brings to Ingram Micro significant leadership experience and an impressive record of achievement across a range of global industries," said Alain Monie, Ingram Micro CEO. "Scott will play a key role on our senior leadership team, including continuing our focus on building top talent and teams and I am pleased to welcome him to lead our dedicated global human resource professionals."
"Lynn has been an instrumental force behind Ingram Micro's strategic direction and success over the past 15 years and the company is a better organization because of her efforts," Monie said. "Lynn has driven positive change for Ingram Micro throughout her career and we will continue to benefit from what she and her team have accomplished. We wish her the best in retirement."
Prior to joining Allergan, Sherman worked at Medtronic, Inc. from August 1995 to September 2010 in roles of increasing complexity and responsibility, including serving as Medtronic's vice president, global total rewards and human resources operations, where he was responsible for global executive compensation, base pay, short-term and long-term incentive programs, as well as health, retirement, life, disability, wealth accumulation and wellness. He held a series of other positions at Medtronic including vice president, international human resources; vice president, Human Resources - Europe, Emerging Markets and Canada; and vice president, human resources - Diabetes. Prior to joining Medtronic, Sherman held various positions in the human resources and sales organizations at Exxon Corporation from 1990 to 1995.
Sherman holds a Master's Degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and a Bachelor's Degree in International Affairs from The George Washington University. He is a member of the Orange County Board of Directors of the American Heart Association, the 2014 recipient of the NHRA Human Resources Executive of the Year award for the Orange County Chapter and an Advisory Board member with the Center for Leadership at California State University Fullerton.
