Infusionsoft Names Brian Young of Home Painters Toronto as the 2015 Small Business ICON and Jarrod Morris and Dustin Lunt of Graphly as the 2015 Battle of the Apps Champion
PHOENIX, April 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Infusionsoft, creator of the leading sales and marketing software for small businesses, today announces Brian Young of Home Painters Toronto as the 2015 Small Business ICON and Jarrod Morris and Dustin Lunt of Graphly as the 2015 Battle of the Apps Champion. More than 2,500 of the total 3,000 attendees at Infusionsoft's annual small business conference, ICON, voted. Attendees selected Young because of the company's growth, innovative sales and marketing strategies and inspirational story, and Graphly was chosen for its simple platform that helps Infusionsoft customers maximize revenue and grow their businesses.
Both the Small Business ICON and Battle of the Apps are contests that celebrate successful entrepreneurs in the Infusionsoft ecosystem. This year's winners exemplify what it means to thrive as a small business that operates in a closely connected digital world, which has fundamentally changed how small businesses must market and sell their products.
2015 Small Business ICON
Brian Young of Home Painters Toronto, a full-service painting company, started his business by cold calling and going door-to-door as a one-man army. Today Home Painters Toronto is one of the most successful residential and commercial full-service painting companies in the greater Toronto area. Since investing in Infusionsoft in 2012, Brian has grown his revenue 350 percent, expanded his team and was able to reduce his workweek from 80 hours to 65 hours, with time to pick up his daughter from school every day. His success and growth has even landed him an appearance on HGTV.
"I am absolutely thrilled to have been chosen as the 2015 Small Business ICON. Words can't describe how I'm feeling now. Winning an award like this is something I will never forget!" said Brian Young, owner of Home Painters Toronto.
Young shared his success story on stage with the two other finalists:
- Damien Sanchez of DC Mosquito Squad: Sanchez, a full-time firefighter as well as an entrepreneur, used Infusionsoft to achieve a 75 percent customer renewal rate. All his efforts have resulted in Sanchez growing his customer base by four times since 2012.
- Lamar Tyler of Tyler New Media: Lamar and his wife used Infusionsoft to take a small personal blog and turn it into an international brand in less than five years by leveraging their live events and great marketing automation practices.
As the 2015 Small Business ICON, Young won $10,000 to invest in his business. While on stage accepting the award, Young announced he'd be donating half of his winnings to Mentors International, a private 501(c)(3) non-profit microfinance organization that helps the impoverished in developing countries achieve self-sufficiency. He will also receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Infusionsoft's headquarters for a one-day strategy and mentoring session from company executives including Infusionsoft CEO and Co-Founder Clate Mask and Chief Marketing Officer Greg Head.
2015 Battle of the Apps Champion
Headquartered in Mesa, Arizona, Graphly is a visual reporting platform created specifically for Infusionsoft users. It empowers business owners by giving them actionable insights related to their lead generation efforts, marketing campaigns, opportunity pipelines and E-Commerce funnels.
Graphly shared the spotlight with the other 2015 Battle of the Apps finalists Easy Check-In and Convrrt.
As the 2015 Battle of the Apps Champion in both the Founder's Choice and People's Choice categories, Graphly is taking home $30,000 to invest in its business. Graphly also receives an all-expenses-paid trip to Infusionsoft's headquarters for a one-day strategy and mentoring session from company executives including Infusionsoft Chief Technology Officer Marc Chesley.
"Brian Young, along with Jarrod Morris and Dustin Lunt, all exemplify the spirit of small business success that is so strong at this year's ICON," said Infusionsoft CEO Clate Mask. "These entrepreneurs have been an inspiration to everyone in attendance this year, and they've helped teach our customers valuable lessons in what it takes to run a successful small business."
ICON15, held March 31 – April 2, 2015 at the Phoenix Convention Center, featured networking, breakout panels and business growth strategies for 3,000 small business owners and entrepreneurs from more than a dozen countries around the world.
