Infragistics Sweetens the User Experience with Quince Pro
Private UX and UI Design Library Promotes Collaboration Among Teams
PRINCETON, N.J. and ELSTREE, England, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Infragistics, the world leader in user interface (UI) development tools and experts in the User Experience (UX) market, today announced Quince Pro, a private, secure and organized way to collaborate, communicate and cultivate private UX design libraries to ensure consistent user experiences across teams, departments and companies.
"Last year we launched Quince, a free, interactive UI patterns and practices catalog, which designers and developers use to explore and discover UI patterns," said Dean Guida, CEO of Infragistics. "Since then we've had an overwhelming demand from developers, interactive designers and UX professionals to be able to privately build their 'style guides' in a collaborative workspace to ensure a consistent look and feel across their organization. We've answered this with Quince Pro."
Historically, to ensure a consistent look and feel across their applications, designers created style guides in enormous Word documents or on wikis. These documents became stale, obsolete and unwieldy. Quince Pro enables design teams to collaborate on design patterns, then clearly communicate their design patterns to their development team while continuously working on, improving and cultivating the private library as new technologies and standards emerge in Web applications.
Quince Pro is available today as a free, 60-day trial. Upon launch at the end of Q1 2010, Quince Pro will move to a subscription-based service.
As a SaaS (Software as a Service), Quince Pro offers subscribers many benefits including:
- Fully hosted on Amazon cloud services for best-in-class security, availability, and scalability
- Accessible from anywhere on any device that runs Silverlight 3 -- VPN not required
- Backups of customer data maintained for as long as you maintain a subscription
- No installation -- built on Silverlight 3
- No IT support costs
Infragistics will continue to add new features to Quince, which remains as a free patterns and practices catalog. In fact, with Quince community feedback, Infragistics updated the Quince design to make users' experience on Quince the best it can be. It also introduced My Corkboard to allow designers and developers to easily clip and post design examples they want to share or begin annotating for inclusion in a design library, and the ability to add callouts, notes and attachments to designs through Annotated Examples.
In addition to Quince and Quince Pro, Infragistics offers UX Services including training and consulting.
