InfoSonics Ships its R80 Rugged, 'Survival' Phone to Customer in India
SAN DIEGO, Jan. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- InfoSonics Corporation (Nasdaq: IFON) today announced that it shipped its new rugged verykool® R80 handset in late December to its first customer in India. This represents the second shipment of the R80 "survival " phone to the Asia Pacific region, the first being made to a customer in China less than three months ago.
"We are extremely pleased to be able to report this second shipment of our R80 rugged handset to a major customer in India," said Joseph Ram, InfoSonics' president and chief executive officer. "Although it is still early, we believe that the R80 could be a significant product for us, and it is helping to open doors to new markets. The R80 is a full-featured, ruggedized, multimedia phone with a great feel and industrial design that we believe will be appealing to customers throughout Asia Pacific, as well as in our core Latin American market. Finally, the R80 represents the first in a new series of products that we hope to introduce in 2011."
