Information Management Announces 2011 Innovative Solution Award Winners
Five groundbreaking, creative technology implementations recognized for solving real business problems
NEW YORK, Nov 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- (http://www.myprgenie.com) -- SourceMedia's Information Management (www.information-management.com) announced today the winners of the 2011 Innovative Solution Awards.
Since 2007, the award has recognized data-dependent organizations conducting information management initiatives that result in constructive change and quantifiable business value. The winning projects involve both the deployment of new technologies and the adaptation of existing technologies in new uses.
An editorial judging panel, led by Information Management Editorial Director Jim Ericson, selected projects for technology creativity, the creation of competitive advantage or a positive impact on the bottom line.
"Compared to last year, these winning entries are impressive for the breadth of their impact across departments and functions," Ericson says. "Organizations are bringing information and analytic empowerment to a much wider audience than before."
Winners were chosen in five categories:
Business Intelligence Award
Winner: State of Michigan (working with vendor partner Teradata).
Achievement: A business intelligence solution that updated and extended the state's data warehousing capabilities.
Business Process Management Award
Winner: Farmers Insurance (working with vendor partner Pegasystems).
Achievement: A system that allows customer service reps to train and complete their claims across multiple legacy systems in a complex data environment.
Data Integration Award
Winner: Station Casinos (working with vendor partner Informatica).
Achievement: A system that connected massive amounts of data for a deeper, diverse marketing and sales perspective.
Performance Management Award
Winner: Salesforce.com (working with vendor partner Coupa).
Achievement: A hosted multitenant e-procurement solution that replaced manual purchasing processes based on an old ERP module.
General Achievement Award
Winner: Microfinance Information Exchange (working with vendor partner Pervasive Software).
Achievement: A cloud solution that addressed complex data transfer, data integration and data quality needs.
"The Innovative Solution Awards are about organizations using information to deliver incremental value to their business models," says Information Management publisher Tony Carrini. "The benefits might be increased revenue, cost containment or customer satisfaction, but the process starts with an information strategy."
Details on the winning projects are available in the November/December issue of Information Management and on the publication's web site (http://www.information-management.com/gallery/BI-BPM-data-integration-performance-management-ISA-award-10021496-1.html).
