LOWELL, Mass., Sept. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- InfoBionic, Inc., an emerging digital health company focused on creating superior patient monitoring solutions for chronic disease management, today announced the appointment of Hamid Tabatabaie, a 30-year health information technology veteran and chief executive of four successful startups, to its Board of Directors.
Tabatabaie is Founder and CEO of lifeIMAGE, the most utilized cloud-based service for exchange of diagnostic imaging information. Following a personal experience as a caregiver frustrated with the inability to share medical records across various healthcare settings, Tabatabaie founded lifeIMAGE to develop a better way for physicians to share patients' imaging records. Many of the nation's leading hospitals and academic medical centers use the network to expedite care, triage referrals, and avoid duplication of unnecessary imaging exams. To date, nine million records containing two billion images have been exchanged on lifeIMAGE. Prior to lifeIMAGE, Tabatabaie led AMICAS, a pioneer in use of the web to automate the processes and the business of diagnostic imaging.
"Hamid has been at the forefront of innovation in medical informatics for more than 15 years," said Nancy Briefs, President, CEO and Co-Founder of InfoBionic. "His experience and insight will be invaluable as we take InfoBionic to the next stage following our recent successful $8 million series B1 financing. Hamid has first-hand experience in the opportunities and challenges we will face as we advance our vision and strategy for next-generation cardiac monitoring into the reality of a commercially available remote arrhythmia patient monitoring platform and drive meaningful value for patients and healthcare providers."
"InfoBionic is solving an important problem through an innovative combination of technology, improved clinical workflow and a game changing business model," said Tabatabaie. "I'm excited to add my contributions to an already powerful team."
