InFlight Labs New "Smart Emergency Location Transmitter" Tracks Any Missing Aircraft With "One Touch" From ATC Command
Smart Emergency Location Transmitter™ is the FIRST Aircraft Emergency Tracking System that can be deployed "Satellite-to-Aircraft" by ATC Ground Command when an aircraft is missing; stops communicating with ATC, squawks a 7700 emergency message or broadcasts a "May Day Distress Call". Then, Smart Emergency Location Transmitter (Smart ELT™) continuously tracks the aircraft through all phases of flight by the Search and Rescue satellite constellation anywhere in the world…
WASHINGTON, April 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- InFlight Labs, LLC, announced today it is in development of a Smart Emergency Location Transmitter (Smart ELT™), which is the FIRST Air Traffic Control (ATC) activated Aircraft Tracking System. Smart ELT™ is deployed over "Satellite-to-Aircraft" communications anywhere in the world from an ATC Ground Command to locate any aircraft within moments of a crisis.
"The tamper-proof Smart ELT™ is a game changer for locating distressed or missing aircraft…Smart ELT™ can be activated/reset while an aircraft is in flight; which the first ELT to offer this functionality. This technology could have located and tracked Malaysian Air 370 through all phases of flight if it was available at that time. We have developed Smart ELT™ so that another incident like Malaysian Air 370 never happens again." says company spokesman Joseph Bekanich.
Smart ELT™, which sends a GPS-based 406 MHz emergency alert to the global search and rescue satellite constellation (COSPAS-SAT). The autonomous activation of the ELT will enable GPS and ground stations to continually track the aircraft's location. Smart ELT™ will also send a detailed burst message to aviation and government authorities, apprising them of the situation within moments of an incident as well.
Smart ELT™ can also be configured to be activated by other avionics such as: Flight Data Recorder (FDR), Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B), Terrain Awareness Warning System (TAWS) or aircraft Transponder to detect when an avionics anomaly or power interruption has occurred.
"The self-powered Smart ELT™ can optionally deploy secure Aircraft-Wide "Air-to-Ground" audio/video communications established to put "eyes on the situation for ATC and government authorities as well".
"Smart ELT™ is a powerful asset that will offer real-time assistance to track missing or distressed aircraft on a world-wide basis" says company spokesman Joseph Bekanich.
"InFlight Labs, LLC "Tamper-proof" Smart Avionics will fill the void for global aircraft tracking, addressing avionics anomalies, power interruptions, and device tampering concerns," states Bekanich.
