Inflection Co-Founders Matthew and Brian Monahan Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2012 Finalists
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., May 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Inflection, a Silicon Valley Big Data startup, today announced that its sibling co-founders, CEO Matthew Monahan and Chief Idea Guy Brian Monahan, are Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalists. The award celebrates outstanding entrepreneurs that demonstrate excellence and success in areas like innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.
Hundreds of applicants were whittled down to nearly 60 semi-finalists, with only a select few making it to this final stage. Says Matthew Monahan, "While we never anticipated awards, my brother and I are humbled and honored. It's acknowledgment of our hard work, sure, but more important, recognition for the effort and brilliance of Inflection's incredible team. Plus, who doesn't love a gala?"
Recent news from Inflection aptly demonstrates the company's continued success under the Monahans' leadership. Last week, the company announced the sale of its "simple and affordable family history" website Archives.com to publicly held Ancestry.com for $100 million in cash, an impressive feat for the not-quite three-year-old Archives.com. Indeed, since its 2006 start, Inflection has been consistently profitable, rapidly growing from bootstrapped bedroom startup to a major Big Data player, with offices in Silicon Valley, Omaha, and Ukraine. Ever innovating, Inflection's newest product, identity.com, promises to be a one-stop-shop for online identity management, leveraging Inflection's considerable experience in people search, public records, and user experience. The site is currently in development, with an anticipated mid-summer launch.
Now in its 26th year, the Entrepreneur Of The Year Program has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 50 countries throughout the world. Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young National Entrepreneur Of The Year Program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the Ernst & Young National Entrepreneur Of The Year Overall Award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on November 17, 2012.
