Infantino Commends CPSC on Safe Babywearing Education for Parents; Continues Work on Universal Sling Safety Standard
SAN DIEGO, Nov. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Infantino issued the following company statement regarding Friday's announcement from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on safe babywearing tips for parents and caregivers:
"As a company that cares deeply about the safety of all children and believes in the benefits of babywearing, Infantino is pleased to see the CPSC's statement on the importance of proper, safe babywearing techniques.
"We voluntarily recalled our sling-style carriers earlier this year and we strongly support the establishment of a universal testing standard for all slings. Infantino is proudly serving on the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) International's Sling Standard Committee and working hard with other baby carrier manufacturers to develop an industry-wide standard which will ensure proper design, testing and manufacturing for all infant slings and wraps.
"In addition to safety and testing standards, we strongly believe education and easy-to-use instructions are also keys to safe babywearing. We have developed a series of instructional videos for all our carriers, so that moms and dads can easily learn correct techniques. The videos can be viewed on the Infantino web site: http://www.infantino.com/carriers.cfm
"We are passionate supporters of babywearing and all of the positive bonding benefits it provides. We know every mom is different and babywearing is a personal experience, so we are proud to offer many designs to help parents find the right fit for their lifestyle. We hope all parents will try to experience the joy of wearing their child and follow the CPSC's simple safety tips."
