IneoQuest Streamlines OTT Video Intelligence with Enhanced Diagnostic Workflow and Audience Impact Analysis
Latest Offerings Reduce Mean-Time-to-Diagnose (MTTD) and Improve Customer Experience Management (CEM).
BOSTON, Sept. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- IneoQuest Technologies, the global leader in video quality and service assurance solutions, announced today that its FoQus™ platform solutions portfolio for over-the-top/adaptive bit rate (OTT/ABR) networks now supports improved diagnostic workflow and impact/trend analysis for online video. These capabilities form a strong foundation for effective Customer Experience Management (CEM) by placing a comprehensive spectrum of network performance and content availability analytics at the service provider's fingertips, enabling issue identification and accelerating diagnosis across the entire online video distribution infrastructure.
IneoQuest's workflow improvements simplify the operator's ability to identify quality issues across the network, and quickly drill into potential causes using the fewest possible clicks. Impact analysis detects issues upstream in the video pipeline and rapidly identifies video assets, regions and stream types affected. Trend analysis identifies quality and behavior trends from the end devices which indicate the need for upstream confirmation test activities. Information can be accessed and displayed through a single user console, a geographically dispersed operations team or responsible individuals based on customized reporting rules.
IneoQuest's service-wide perspective is made possible because its FoQus platform elements are designed to work in concert from the start. The FoQus platform is a comprehensive suite of data acquisition and analytics elements that deliver the actionable insights that video businesses need to understand their viewers' experience, increase viewer satisfaction and decrease customer churn. Three types of data acquisition products are offered to align with the measurement requirements at different points in the video distribution chain:
- Inspector™ LIVE elements verify the quality of the content entering the OTT pipeline, and that it is being prepared properly. It scores the quality of each program asset variant to assure that the content is good and being generated in a "network-friendly" manner before it is sent to the network.
- iQDialogue™ ASM elements verify that content has been published properly, and that the origin servers are performing as required origin servers, CDNs and other networks are providing the performance required for a high-quality playback experience.
- Surveyor™ ABR Active elements, physically and virtually deployed across the delivery networks, act as a skilled virtual audience. They leverage synthetic agent technology to request, receive, evaluate, and report stream availability and quality.
While each of these system elements provides an independent user console, they also send data to a central iQ Engine, the integrated Video Management System (iVMS ASM). This engine correlates the data in multiple dimensions, including program asset and time, and presents it to the user through a single interface, unlocking the true power of the FoQus platform. Users can visualize the entire network and drill down to a particular video stream in a specific location. Users can direct appropriate diagnostic responses such as re-targeting FoQus test elements to confirm a problem source.
"The ultimate goal of any streaming initiative is to assure that content is playing smoothly and customers are engaged. Unfortunately, that is not always the case," said Joel Daly, VP of Product Management at IneoQuest. "We studied the way our customers use our products for issue detection and troubleshooting and have improved the user interface, delivering a single pane of glass for smoother end-to-end network diagnostic workflow. This offers faster detection and diagnosis, resulting in lower operational cost and subscriber churn."
IneoQuest will be demonstrating the FoQus platform's analysis capabilities at the IBC show in Amsterdam from Sept. 9-13, 2016 in Stand 2.B20. For more information and a complimentary exhibit pass, visit www.ineoquest.com.
