Industry Veteran Joins Performance Trust Investment Advisors "Muni" Funds Team

CHICAGO, July 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Performance Trust Investment Advisors, LLC (PTIA), an affiliate of Performance Trust Capital Partners, LLC, announced today that John Wilhelm has joined its elite team of specialized municipal bond portfolio management and research. With this capability, PTIA will serve individual and institutional investors by employing investment strategies that will capitalize on opportunities in the municipal bond market.

Wilhelm, who has developed a wealth of expertise in municipal and corporate bond credit research and fixed-income portfolio management during his twenty-one year career, will help to build a team of investment professionals to offer investors products that invest in tax-exempt municipal bonds. Municipal bonds are generally attractive to investors for their tax advantages, high yields and historically low default rates.

Prior to joining PTIA, Wilhelm was a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Chicago-based Nuveen Investments. While at Nuveen, Wilhelm managed more than $3 billion in total assets covering high yield and high quality municipal bond strategies. Before he joined the portfolio management team, Wilhelm led a team of credit analysts responsible for research of industrial development bonds, utilities and real estate-backed financings.
