Industry leading and innovating Taiwanese companies showcased their latest products at the National Hardware Show in Las Vegas
International press conference and product launch included executives from Chang Yi Shin, Duen Yih Metal Industrial, Nusharp, Plumbing Association of Taiwan and Win Chance Metal
LAS VEGAS, May 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Taiwan's hand tool and faucet industry leaders were on-hand at the National Hardware Show in Las Vegas to display a full line of Taiwanese innovations and products. Members of the international press community and buyers were able to meet with representatives from Chang Yi Shin, Duen Yih Metal Industrial, Nusharp, Plumbing Association of Taiwan and Win Chance Metal. Over the past few decades, Taiwan has strengthened its position in the hand tool and faucet industries due to continuous developments in structure and optimization of work processes.
The International Press Conference and Product Launch was kicked-off with prepared remarks from Taiwan Trade Center Los Angeles Director Mr. Moses Yen and the Director of Economic Division for Taipei Economic and Cultural Office Los Angeles Mr. Ming-Shy Chen. Both directors stressed the importance of Taiwanese products and the country's relationship with its largest importer, the United States. Mr. Chris Wang of Changy Yi Shin Electronic Faucets gave an informational talk on how Taiwan can set itself apart from China by being innovative. Following that, Ms. Susan Shih from Duen Yih Metal Industrial Co., showed off a new smart lock for homes that can be opened simply by waving a smartphone in front of it. Mr. Huang Mu Wei from NuSharp, Mr. Jack Lin from the Plumbing Association of Taiwan and Ms. Jenny Lu from Win Chance Metal Co., rounded out the speakers who presented on topics ranging from industrial heavy-duty shears to ratchet buckles for commercial, recreation and consumer usage.
In 2013, Taiwanese hand tool manufacturers hit the export volume of 1.95 Billion USD and with a stable year-on-year growth of 6.9 percent the prospects for the future are even better. With 29 percent of overall exports the U.S is the most important export partner for Taiwanese hand tool companies and suppliers. These figures are the result of an ingenious and sustainable development in the recent years.
Around 80 percent of the 600-hand tool manufacturers are gathered in Central Taiwan, providing a collaborative and short supply chain for the whole industry, all falling within a 10 km radius.
