Industry Leaders To Discuss The Ups And Downs Of Alternative Fuels At MPG Event
Experts to predict the gasoline price tipping point that will drive green car sales, Tuesday, May 20
LOS ANGELES, May 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On May 20, 2014 the Motor Press Guild (MPG), the largest automotive media association in North America, will hold a special event moderated by John O'Dell, senior editor for fuel efficiency and green vehicles at Edmunds.com. The event will take place on the historic Queen Mary in Long Beach where automotive industry experts will gather to discuss alternative fuels sources.
The following expert panelists representing a range of alternative fuels and powertrains will discuss the technological feasibility against the economic viability of the various clean transportation options most commonly used today, including hydrogen, electric, CNG as a fuel/bi-fuel and electrification for both traditional and non-traditional transportation applications.

In addition to the MPG portion of the evening, the Queen Mary will announce its plans to host an important racing event on August 23-24. The Soap Box Derby racers from across Southern California will head to the ship for a weekend of low-speed gravity induced competition. These veteran speedsters, piloting their own custom machines, will be joined by area youngsters competing in generic Soap Box cars for their first taste of motorsports competition.
