INDUS Corporation Awarded Chief Information Officer—Solutions and Partners 3 (CIO-SP3) Government-wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC)
TYSONS CORNER, Va., June 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- INDUS Corporation (INDUS), a leading provider of Information Technology (IT) solutions to the Federal Government, today announced that it has been awarded the National Institute of Health (NIH) Information Acquisition and Assessment Center (NITAAC) Chief Information Officer - Solutions and Partners 3 (CIO-SP3) Government-wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). A CIO-SP3 Unrestricted Contract was awarded to INDUS as the leader of the Health Informatics and Information Technology Solutions (HIITS) Contractor Team Arrangement (CTA). HIITS CTA is a strategic union of INDUS, a successful mid-tier Health IT firm, and two high quality small and disadvantaged Health IT firms - Digital Infuzion, Inc. (DIFZ), and Armedia, LLC (Armedia).
Shiv Krishnan, INDUS Chairman and CEO commented, "INDUS formed the HIITS CTA, together with DIFZ and Armedia to support NITAAC's vision focusing on a fresh approach to health-related missions, energized by new and unencumbered leadership delivering proven IT services and solutions. We are excited about this opportunity to partner with NITAAC to bring best-in-class capabilities to support our Government's critical Health IT mission."
"NITAAC provided INDUS, DIFZ, and Armedia an opportunity to join forces and bid the CIO-SP3 under a CTA. We seized on this innovative approach and created HIITS as a strategic union with a sole purpose and single focus - CIO-SP3," stated Justin Brown, the General Manager of HIITS and the PM for CIO-SP3. "We look forward to a successful and strategic partnership with NITAAC over the next ten years."
Under this 10-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract valued up to $20 billion for all awardees, INDUS, Digital Infuzion, and Armedia can compete for individual task orders to provide a wide range of services including: IT services for biomedical research, health sciences and healthcare, imaging, IT operations and maintenance, integration services, and software development. The CIO-SP3 GWAC gives Government agencies a way to order IT solutions and services at reasonable prices and focus on the accountability goals of the Federal Health Architecture (FHA), allowing Federal Agencies to coordinate effective capital planning activities; invest in and implement interoperable health IT; and provide IT services designed to support the Federal Enterprise Architecture and the DoD Enterprise Architecture.
"Our entire team is highly excited with this award as it will enable us to provide Federal healthcare agencies with comprehensive, high-quality services from our exceptional CTA team members and subcontractors. The CIO-SP3 contract builds on Digital Infuzion' track record of successfully implementing mission critical Health IT solutions. We look forward to working with NITAAC and collaborate with agencies across the Federal government to provide innovative and cost effective solutions," said Hemant Virkar, President and CEO of Digital Infuzion, Inc.
"We are excited about partnering with NITAAC and delivering the highest quality Health IT solutions to our Federal government customers. The CIO-SP3 contract provides a low risk channel for Federal agencies to obtain mission focused solutions provided by the HIITS team," said James Bailey, President of Armedia.
