Individual Investors Will Learn the Fundamentals of Investing Success at the BetterInvesting National Convention May 15-18 in Chicago
MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich., April 29, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Individual investors will learn how to make sense of Wall Street and take control of their financial future at the BetterInvesting National Convention, May 15-18 at the Chicago Marriott O'Hare Hotel.
The BetterInvesting National Convention focuses on empowering Main Street investors to follow commonsense long-term strategies by drawing on more than 60 years of education. With retirement planning a more critical undertaking than ever, this event is dedicated to the idea that anyone can learn to be a successful investor.
"This event offers a variety of education, but all of it is dedicated to the idea that investing success comes from consistently applying fundamental, long-term principles," say event co-chairs Henry Gold and Susan Tampasis. "The volunteers who provide the education are passionate about sharing unbiased information about what really matters in investing."
The convention offers more than 50 sessions on selecting stocks and other investments, planning for retirement, managing a portfolio and more. Investors of all experience levels can find sessions to meet their interests, from the basics of investing in stocks to discussions of investment clubs, exchange-traded funds, dividend stocks and options. Panel discussions on stock selection round out the event — attendees are sure to come away with several investment ideas to study.
On Saturday, May 17, the public is invited to attend a free day of investment education that includes keynote presentations from Josh Peters, CFA, editor of Morningstar DividendInvestor, and John Wasik, financial writer and author of Keynes's Way to Wealth. In addition, Jim Bittman, senior instructor at the Options Institute at the Chicago Board of Options Exchange will discuss the basics of planning an options trade, Lori Schock of the Securities and Exchange Commission will provide a regulatory update, and Christine Kieffer of FINRA will lead a session.
The convention is the premiere education event of BetterInvesting, a nonprofit investment education association. The association's BetterInvesting Volunteer Advisory Board, comprising volunteers who are passionate about the association's mission, conducts the annual event.
