"When I first heard of politicians and the like talking about building a wall I thought, let's take it one massive step further; perhaps we should build a wall or shield have you, around the planet." Walters weaves his love of the outdoors, in particular the Pacific Northwest and his home state of Oregon, along with his fascination of the X-files and Native American culture into a mysterious supernatural yarn with SciFi elements. An unexpected twist of fate takes place in Still Wilde when Mabey Wilde, the main character's wife, steals the show when, after an abduction and subsequent escape she finds herself on the run through the Pacific Northwest woods. Walters believes, "Hollywood leading ladies should take notice, this would be a great film role."
Fans of Walters' debut novel, The Outlaw River Wilde have expressed great interest in the follow up book and latest offering from the up and coming Indie author. Walters trekked to Oregon last year to photograph one of America's favorite national parks, Crater Lake, in an effort to bring back childhood memories of his favorite place in the U.S. Crater Lake plays a significant part in the duology.
"An original and impressively well written novel, 'The Outlaw River Wilde' is a deftly crafted and highly entertaining story by an author who will leave his readers looking eagerly toward his next effort." – James A. Cox, Editor-in-Chief, Midwest Book Review. His "next effort", Still Wilde in Outlaw River has arrived.
Walters is the director of Marketing and Product at a library software company based in Ontario, California. When he isn't writing, Mike spends free time riding bikes on the Claremont Loop Trail in Claremont, CA or contemplating his next novel at one of Southern California's many Microbreweries, his favorite being Claremont Craft Ales.
