Indiana, Illinois land to sell in June 18 auction

SULLIVAN, Ind., May 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Approximately 1,035 acres of land in western Indiana and eastern Illinois will be offered at auction Tuesday, June 18. The land -- more than 83 percent of which is tillable -- is being sold by Indiana Michigan Power Company and Indiana Franklin Realty, Inc.

The land in Sullivan County, Ind., will be offered in 14 tracts, ranging from 21 acres to 155 acres. "Taken as a whole, the Sullivan County tracts provide 655 acres of contiguous tillable farmland. However, bidders will be allowed to bid on any combination of tracts, which range in size from 21 acres to 155 acres," said Gene Klingaman, executive vice president of Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company, which is managing the sale in cooperation with Murray Wise Associates. "All but a couple of these have tillable land, though there are two attractive tracts of 49 acres and 32 acres that are primarily recreational land, with mixed hardwood trees."

The land in Clark County, Ill., will be offered in two tracts, of 36 acres and 207 acres. "The 36-acre tract has about 34 acres that are tillable. The larger Illinois tract has approximately 179 acres that are tillable and has approximately a half mile of frontage on the Wabash River," said Joe Bubon, of Murray Wise Associates.

The auction will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at the Sullivan County 4-H Fair Grounds Exhibit Building, 1361 East County Road, Sullivan, Ind.
