Independent Research Firm Names PCMS as a "Leader" in Point of Service (POS)
CINCINNATI, July 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- PCMS, the global supplier of Engaged Commerce retail software, cloud and managed services, has been named among vendors that "lead the pack" in The Forrester Wave™: Point Of Service, Q3 2018.
Forrester's report examined the current offering, strategy and market presence of 13 of the most significant POS application companies. After examining past research, user need assessments, and vendor and expert interviews, Forrester developed the initial evaluation criteria. Evaluations of the product road map and vision for the future of POS were also part of the report.
As a result of this intensive analysis, PCMS was named among vendors that "lead the pack."

Forrester researchers examined global POS application suppliers that met strict selection criteria. Only those with at least $20 million in annual revenues, a minimum of 50 live clients and examples of Tier 1 implementation projects were included. Of the 13 vendors evaluated, only four were cited as a leader.
PCMS received the highest possible score in nine criteria including corporate strategy, implementation scale, geographic deployment and architecture.
The report states: "PCMS helps make stores into destinations … PCMS offers impressive strength in architecture, mobile application extensions, and back office functionality."
PCMS believes that its ability to drive traffic to stores and upgrade customer experience for transactions was a key factor in its position as a leader in the report.
Forrester also notes that "client references admired the PCMS POS reliability and future vision." The report quoted one customer who described PCMS as having "proven, reliable existing POS capability, combined with a compelling vision of future POS (both architecturally and to meet customer requirements)."
