Independent Committee Shrugs at Reid Campaign's FEC Complaint
Buckle Up, We've Officially Entered Silly Season!
LAS VEGAS, Sept. 17 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- 1001 Reasons to Vote Against Harry Reid, an independent committee, just received notice of a complaint filed against them by Sen. Harry Reid's re-election committee. This complaint, filed with the Federal Election Commission, alleges the following:
- That Danny Tarkanian spoke at a Second Amendment event attended by candidate Sharron Angle, therefore there must have been some sort of illicit coordination despite the fact that no cross promotion occurred;
- That the name of the Committee, 1001 Reasons to Vote Against Harry Reid and its website, HarryReidVotes.com, uses the name Harry Reid, which Sen. Harry Reid thinks should be illegal for his adversaries to do; and
- That the radio ads that 1001 Reasons to Vote Against Harry Reid has been airing (please click here to listen: http://tinyurl.com/2aszbk5) has an insufficient disclaimer, despite the fact that it was taken directly from the FEC's website.
Harry Reid is clearly uncomfortable talking about issues like his big spending ways, his support for job-killing taxes and regulations or his cynical plan to ram controversial legislation through a lame duck session. Instead, he'd rather waste taxpayer money by filing a frivolous complaint with the FEC in an attempt to intimidate those who are committed to exposing his voting record.
"1001 Reasons to Vote Against Harry Reid" exists online at http://www.harryreidvotes.com for the purpose of educating the public about Senator Reid's voting record and raising the funds necessary to finance television and radio ads this fall. It is an independent 527 committee chaired by Nevada resident and former U.S. Senate candidate Danny Tarkanian. Voters are encouraged to visit the HarryReidVotes.com website and use the interactive quiz function http://www.harryreidvotes.com/quiz/ to see how their views align with Senator Reid's votes.
