ATLANTA, Feb. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Paybefore has chosen four InComm programs as winners in the 2013 Paybefore Awards including:
- OneVanilla—Best Network Branded Gift Card Program
- Do It Yourself Home Improvement Gift Card—Most Effective Closed-Loop or RAN Prepaid Card Program
- Vanilla MasterCard® Gift 3-Card Multipack for Sam's Club—Best Prepaid Card or Packaging Design
- Speedway Loyalty Program—Best Retail-Based Prepaid Card Program
Paybefore Awards, now in its seventh year, is the most prestigious recognition of excellence in the worldwide prepaid and emerging payments industry. The awards are presented annually by Paybefore, whose publications are the leading source of industry information for alternative payments executives.
"We constantly strive to innovate prepaid programs and transactional technologies that both improve the consumer experience and advance the payments industry overall," said Brooks Smith, president and CEO, InComm. "We are delighted to receive this recognition, and we look forward to continuing to develop award-worthy payments solutions."
InComm's programs were selected by a panel of five industry experts who served as judges for this year's competition, which—once again—included a record number of entries from around the world.
"Paybefore Awards were created to honor the companies and individuals that are at the forefront of innovation as well as successful market implementation across the globe," said Loraine DeBonis, Paybefore editor-in-chief and chair of the judging panel.
"It's a dynamic time in electronic payments as companies like InComm, Sam's Club and Speedway continue to innovate the payments space," she continued. "We are proud to recognize their contributions to advancing the prepaid and emerging payments industry."
"As the world changes, so do the payment and money management needs of individuals, businesses and government agencies," added Marilyn Bochicchio, Paybefore's CEO. "Paybefore Awards recognizes the organizations that use financial services to make people's lives better, which is why it is so exciting for us to honor those who champion innovation and excellence."
InComm and its partners now will vie for Best-in-Category distinction, which will be announced during the Paybefore Awards ceremony on March 4 at the Prepaid Expo (www.prepaidexpousa.com). And for the first time in Paybefore Awards history, visitors to Paybefore.com will have a chance to vote on Best in Category. The outcome of this vote (counted as one-sixth of the total) will be combined with the five judges' picks to determine Best-in-Category honorees.
