Don Quijote chose InComm's Fastcard POSA technology because it simplifies stock control and reduces the risk of loss, making it easy to actively merchandise, market and promote prepaid cards. "We are committed to being the leader of the Japanese prepaid/gift industry," said Frank Monaco, Vice President of International. "One of the main advantages of our technology is that these products carry no value until activated at the point of sale. This enables retailers to market and position them as they would any other product and eliminates the wait and hassle associated with value-bearing cards which traditionally require store employees to retrieve them from secure locations. We are honored to be selected at Don Quijote's partners."
While most retailers in North America regularly use POSA technology to enable display merchandising of gift and prepaid cards, the Don Quijote launch represents the first roll out of this technology in the major discount store industry in Japan.
"I'm very pleased to announce this successful launch which serves to strengthen the growing worldwide distribution channel we have built for our Japanese and global card partners," said Takumaro Arai, Country Manager of InComm Japan. "Our retail channel now covers leading companies across many retail categories including Home & Electronics, Convenience Stores, GMS and Discount Stores, and we plan to continue our technological expansion in Japan and other Asian countries."
