The American Bankruptcy Institute and the National Bankruptcy Research Center reported on June 2, 2011 that consumer bankruptcies filed declined by nearly 15% from one month earlier (April 2011), prompting Columbia University Law Professor Ronald Mann to say, "The worst is behind us."
