"While most people agree that financial literacy should be taught in schools, most teachers are not prepared to teach it, having never studied it themselves," said Etta Money, InCharge's President. "The 'Teach Money' program we are developing with Chase will prepare future teachers to teach financial literacy to the next generation."
This grant was made possible through Chase's Financial Literacy Grant Program, which in its sixth year, awards funding to community organizations focused on financial education throughout the United States including credit counseling agencies and consumer finance research groups. The nationwide program is part of Chase's commitment to supporting financial literacy for people of all ages.
"Now more than ever, Chase is committed to increasing access to information and assistance that can help individuals improve their financial situations and secure their financial futures," said Mel Martinez, Chairman, JPMorgan Chase Florida & Global Foundation. "We are pleased to provide InCharge Debt Solutions with the funding they need to help ensure their program's success."
