Inception beat out 14 other fan favorites, including The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Toy Story 3 and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1, in a month long online survey exclusively featured on Fandango's Awards Watch section at http://awardswatch.fandango.com/2011/ballotbox/fanchoiceaward.php . Polls closed yesterday at 5:00 P.M. PT.
"Christopher Nolan might not have been nominated by the Academy as the year's Best Director, but he certainly hit a home run with Fandango fans for his incredible vision with Inception," says Ted Hong, Chief Marketing Officer of Fandango. "Inception won over both critics and mainstream moviegoers, and it represented a significant portion of our tickets sales in 2010."
Thousands of moviegoers voted for their favorite film of 2010, picking the winner from a list comprised of the fifteen top-grossing films of the year. Fans also had the opportunity to participate in a sweepstakes for a chance to attend the CinemaCon Final Night Banquet and Awards Ceremony.
