Incapital Sponsors a Room Makeover for Child in Need in Collaboration with Drops of Hope
Nonprofit offers transportation and room makeovers for children battling pediatric cancer
BOCA RATON, Fla. and CHICAGO, June 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Incapital, a leading underwriter and distributor of fixed income and other financial products, today announced that it will sponsor a room makeover for a child battling pediatric cancer through the South Florida-based nonprofit organization, Drops of Hope.
On Saturday, June 8, the organization, with the help of sponsors, will transform the bedroom of Naomi, a three-year-old girl with a Wilm's Tumor (a type of kidney cancer), into a bedroom fit for a princess. The organization provides free transportation to and from chemotherapy treatments for children battling pediatric cancer.
"We are humbled to work alongside and promote such an inspirational organization that seeks to better the lives of pediatric cancer patients," said John Radtke, CEO of Incapital. "Through this partnership, we hope to help spread awareness of Drops of Hope's efforts and the impact the organization has had in the local community and in the lives of these children."
While chauffeuring terminally ill children from low to no income families to their doctor appointments, Executive Director of Drops of Hope, Michael Fischer observed that many of the sick children shared meager living conditions. This sparked the idea to launch Rooms of Hope, a campaign that unites corporate sponsors with a team of volunteers to transform a sick child's space into the bedroom of their dreams while they are away at the hospital.
"We create personal spaces based on each child's imagination and unique interests," said Fischer. "As a non-profit, we rely on cash and in-kind donations from corporations like Incapital to make these dreams come true. It's a small price to pay for granting a kid battling a life threatening disease the opportunity to forget, if only for a moment, their pain and suffering and revel in the joy of just simply being a child."
