ATLANTA, March 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) today announced the opening of registration for the inaugural SMRP Symposium taking place June 7-8, 2017, in Atlanta, Georgia. The event expands on SMRP's educational offerings while highlighting the growth and importance of the maintenance, reliability and physical asset management profession in the Southeast.
Symposium attendees can choose from 12 workshops that cover a variety of topics and also count toward CMRP and CMRT recertification hours. Attendees also have the opportunity to tour Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport's People Mover Maintenance Facility, MARTA's Armour Yard Rail Maintenance Facility, or the Sunny Delight Beverages Co. plant.
"With the success and growth of SMRP membership and the Annual Conference, we wanted to give our members another opportunity in the year to gather for workshops and certification opportunities," said Erin Erickson, SMRP executive director. "Georgia is the perfect location for this inaugural event due to the thriving industries in the Southeast and the number of SMRP Chapters in the region."
The keynote presentation, "Four Critical Decisions that Successful People Make," will be given by renowned comedian and corporate speaker Kenn Kington.
Individuals interested in the SMRP Symposium should pay attention to the following key dates:
- Early bird registration: March 6, 2017 – April 26, 2017
- Regular registration: April 27, 2017 – June 7, 2017
- Registration for all tours needs must be completed two weeks prior to the scheduled event
