iNACOL Webinar Provides Overview of the U.S. Department of Education's Innovative Assessment Pilot for States and Districts
WASHINGTON, Jan. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The U.S. Department of Education is now accepting applications for its Innovative Assessment Pilot. States and districts can apply for the Pilot and begin developing next generation systems of assessments.
On Monday, January 29, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET, iNACOL will host a Special Edition Webinar to provide an overview of the Pilot's requirements and application process. Staff from state educational agencies, state policymakers and districts engaged in developing innovative systems of assessments are encouraged to attend.
This Innovative Assessment Pilot allows states to develop next generation systems of assessments in collaboration with a subset of its districts prior to scaling statewide.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the pilot program, hear from an assessment expert on considerations for designing new systems of assessments to ensure student success, and learn how states can collaborate on new models, with or without the demonstration authority.
iNACOL has invited and confirmed the attendance of staff from the U.S. Department of Education to be on hand to answer questions about the program regulations. Come prepared with questions, or submit them in advance to @nacol on Twitter.
iNACOL CEO Susan Patrick said, "The Innovative Assessment Pilot is a tremendous opportunity for states and districts to redesign systems of assessments to better align with student-centered learning."
This webinar is free to attend — participants are invited to register here for final details and login information.
