iNACOL Webinar Highlights Promising State Policies for Personalized Learning
WASHINGTON, June 16, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- What are the promising state policies to enable and scale personalized learning? How can policymakers develop and advance a coordinated set of policies that suits their state's unique policy landscape and education system?
On Tuesday, June 21, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET, the International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) is hosting a Special Edition webinar to explore promising state policies to enable and scale personalized learning.
The passage of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) presents a historic opportunity for states to align policy environments to advance powerful, personalized learning experiences for all students.
A recent iNACOL report, Promising State Policies for Personalized Learning, highlights specific state examples of promising policies that create room for student-centered learning to close persistent equity and learning gaps.
In this webinar, co-hosted by iNACOL and the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), the presenters will discuss policy opportunities and specific state examples that other states can look to in crafting their own legislation. The webinar will highlight the different entry points for states, with policies for getting started and launching initiatives; moving forward with specific policies to support personalized learning, or taking a comprehensive policy approach.
Maria Worthen, iNACOL Vice President for Federal and State Policy, said, "Students, teachers and school leaders are seeking flexibility and supports to enable powerful, personalized learning opportunities. This webinar will explore how education leaders can advance a set of coordinated policies to enable personalized learning, helping to close the graduation, learning, and equity gaps for all students."
This webinar is free to attend—participants are invited to register here for final details and login information.
