iNACOL Announces Webinar on Cyber-Bullying
VIENNA, Va., June 14, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) will be hosting a webinar on "Cyber-bullying: Trends and the Law" on Thursday, June 16, 2011, from 2:00 - 3:00 PM (Eastern) via Blackboard Collaborate.
Cyber-bullying is rapidly becoming a major challenge for schools. Approximately thirty-four states have passed laws relating to cyber-bullying. Even with laws prohibiting cyber-bullying, it remains an issue for educators to address in both the face-to-face and online environment.
In this session, Dr. Mike Dishman, an associate professor of educational leadership and a practicing school attorney, will provide an overview of cyber-bullying, discuss legal issues leading to compliance challenges, forecast future issues in cyber-bullying, and discuss strategies for handling cyber-bullying.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a discussion with Dr. Dishman during the webinar and in Q&A.
This webinar is part of the iNACOL webinar professional development series. Please register online: http://www.inacol.org/events/. Pricing is available for members and non-members.
