In Puppy Love: New Varietals Find "Furrever" Home in Chateau La Paws™ Wines Portfolio
Award-winning wines add four new varietals to their pack
SONOMA, Calif., Sept. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Chateau La Paws™ Wines expands its portfolio today nationwide with four new wine varietals and a sustained mission to support rescue dogs in need, helping them find a permanent chateau of their own. The new varietals, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Sweet Red Blend, offer a deeper portfolio for wine enthusiasts to explore alongside their favorite meals while supporting their furry friends.
"Through the outpouring of support from consumers sharing their love of the wine and their amazing rescue stories, we knew we had to create four new varietals featuring even more special rescue dogs," said winemaker Marty Spate. "Chateau La Paws™ gives us at Diageo Chateau & Estate Wines and consumers the chance to make a difference while indulging in something we enjoy – delicious wine."
The new Rosenblum Cellar offerings join award-winning Chateau La Paws™ Chardonnay, Red Blend and Pinot Noir, which launched earlier this year to two paws up. Both the Chateau La Paws™ Chardonnay and Red Blend received Gold medals with the latter receiving the honor of "Best in Class" at the 2015 Los Angeles International Wine Competition. Additionally, Chateau La Paws™ was the number one selling innovation wine brand from January to July 2015 according to Neilson. More than respected wine, the newest expansion from Diageo Chateau & Estates Wine (DC&E) continues an official national partnership with North Shore Animal League America (NSALA). From the now 28 rescue pups featured on the wine labels to a $100,000 donation, Chateau La Paws™ is dedicated to rescue dogs through the expansion of the brand.
"We are pleased to once again have our beautiful rescue dogs featured on the Chateau La Paws™ wine labels. This most generous contribution in support of our mission is deeply appreciated as is the commitment to continue to raise awareness for shelter pets," said Joanne Yohannan, SVP Operations, North Shore Animal League America.
As rescue dogs of all shapes and sizes find their perfect family match each day, Chateau La Paws™ wine varietals embody an assortment of flavor profiles that perfectly match each wine lover's palate. Mixed like the cutest mutt pup, the Chateau La Paws™ Sweet Red Blend combines some of the tastiest varietals (Zinfandel, Merlot and Syrah) to create a balanced palate of juicy flavors of blueberry jam, ripe raspberries and hints of chocolate, holding its structure through a satisfying finish. Paired best with pasta dishes, the Cabernet Sauvignon offers the inviting combination of juicy black fruit and roasted coffee. Like man's best friend, Merlot has a likeable, charming personality which has been bottled as a medium-bodied, velvety wine brimming with ripe plum and black cherry. The Sauvignon Blanc opens with bright, expressive aromas of stone fruit, pineapple, kumquat and peach blossom and leads into a tropical palate that is as lively as it is fresh tasting.
The launch of the new Rosenblum Cellar Chateau La Paws™ wine varietals will be supported through social activations on Instagram (@chateaulapaws) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/chateaulapaws), in-store promotions, point of sale materials and public relations efforts. Chateau La Paws™ Wines are available in stores nationwide and sold at the suggested retail price of $12.99 for a 750 mL bottle. Just as owners of rescue dogs show great responsibility towards their four-legged friends, please always enjoy Chateau La Paws™ Wines responsibly.
Give your dogs hugs and treats, but please don't feed them wine.
