In honor of Mother's Day, from May 8th-15th people can join Planet Fitness for just $10 down and then $10 a month, and participating locations nationwide will donate 100% of enrollment fees ($10 per signup) to BCRF. Over the past three years, Planet Fitness has donated more than $1 million to BCRF, and the company and its franchisees this year hope to surpass previous years' donations.
"The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is grateful for the support of Planet Fitness in helping BCRF raise both money and awareness, for the fourth year in a row, for BCRF's lifesaving research efforts that are aimed at prevention and a cure for breast cancer," said Myra J. Biblowit, BCRF President. "In the U.S. alone, unfortunately every 2.3 minutes a woman will be diagnosed with breast cancer — a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend. To implement this program during the Mother's Day holiday is a great way to make a difference and speak to women across the nation affected by breast cancer at such an alarming rate."
"We are honored to partner with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation to help provide financial support for such a worthy cause," said Chris Rondeau, chief executive officer of Planet Fitness. "We are committed to helping better people's lives, through fitness and giving back to our communities, and with so many grandmothers, mothers and daughters touched by breast cancer, we felt this promotion was the perfect way to honor Mother's Day."
In addition, to honor all moms throughout the country, Planet Fitness is hosting a special "Mom Nom" sweepstakes to find the Best Mom on the Planet. From May 8th-15th, people can nominate a special mom by visiting www.PlanetFitness.com/MomNoms and one lucky person will be randomly selected to win a year membership for themselves and a mom of their choice.
Currently, there are approximately 650 Planet Fitness clubs nationwide and more than 4.5 million members. To find a Planet Fitness near you or to join online, visit www.PlanetFitness.com.
