China Joins with the World at the Foot of the Great Wall
BEIJING, March 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The International Boxing Federation ("IBF" or "the Organization"), a non-profit organization governing the efficiency and uniformity in the supervision of professional boxing and IBF China together held a press conference at NUO Hotel, Beijing, announcing the opening of the 33rd Annual IBF/USBA Convention, which will be held in Beijing from May 23rd to 27th, 2016.
At the IBF annual meeting, IBF members from all over the world including China, will discuss the future development of professional boxing. Participants include IBF executives, referees, promoters, brokers, trainers, and boxers, including a number of former and current world champions. During the annual meeting, a World IBF Boxing Championship Bout will be held on May 25th. China's first world boxing champion Xiong Chaozhong will fight at the Diamond Stadium of National Olympic Park in Beijing, fighting for the IBF World Flyweight Division belt. Amnat Ruenroeng, who once beat Zou Shiming, will be defending his world title.
The theme of this year's IBF annual meeting is "In Boxing Family I Believe Future", which expresses the idea that it will be a family reunion of boxers from all over the world and China. Glory for everyone and their country be present at the Great Wall, the new starting point for China and the world to work together into the future.
A Feast for Boxing Fans
The press conference was held in an outdoor area of the NUO Hotel on the afternoon of March 29, 2016. Attendees included the Rating Chairman of the IBF/USBA, Anibal Miramontes, the management group of IBF China, partner representatives, and Rejoy Group, an exclusive operational agency of IBF China' s Business Promotions. In addition, boxers participating in this year's tournament, Amnat Ruenroeng, Johnriel Casimer, Xiong Chaozhong, and Cai Zongju, also attended. Famous boxers Qiu Xiaojun and Xu Can were also there to cheer for their friend, Xiong Chaozhong.
On May 25th, 2016, the IBF Boxing Tournaments will be held at the Diamond Stadium of the National Olympic Park in Beijing, landing in Mainland China for the first time. The stadium capacity is 16,000, and the bucket-shape design within is suitable for enjoying boxing. Additionally, as the exclusive promotion agency, Rejoy Group provides an attractive venue for the more than 80 million boxing fans in China who may watch the event on TV or follow it online.
The Boxing Tournament will be broadcast on mainstream television, Internet and mobile channels, to meet the needs of fans throughout the world.
The main event is a bout between Amnat Ruenroeng, the Thai boxer holding the IBF flyweight golden belt, challenged by Johnriel Casimer from the Philippines, ranked first in his division by IBF World. Amnat Ruenroeng earned his reputation in China by defeating China's double Olympic champion Zou Shiming, and defending his world title.
In addition, former WBC mini lightweight champion Xiong Chaozhong will come to Beijing for the first time. Xiong Chaozhong won the IBF Continental Championship title in 2010. This time, he will participate in the IBF World 105 pound elimination bout. If he wins, he will fight for the IBF mini lightweight title.
Female boxer Cai Zongju will also participate in an IBF World 105 pounds mini lightweight title challenger elimination bout. If she wins, like Xiong Chaozhong, she will officially fight for the IBF mini lightweight title. The IBF hopes to soon see the first Chinese female world champion.
The IBF world championship will strictly follow the premier professional events 'rules and standards to not only ensure the Tournament organization and broadcast production meets global standards, but to also make sure the boxing rings meet the strict requirements of the IBF.
As the opening chapter of a series of events held by IBF China in 2016, the Diamond Battle on May 25th will be a historical event, and its influence and appeal will make it one of China's Most Remarkable Sports Events this year.
The 33rd Annual IBF/USBA Convention will be Landing in Beijing, Helping to Expand the Chinese Boxing Market
In additional to the attractive "boxing feast", from May 23rd to May 27th, there will be the 33rd Annual IBF/USBA Convention. This is the first time in the history of the IBF that it will hold its convention in Asia.
It is reported that some former and present champions including Lewis, Roy Jones, Holyfield, Foreman, Holmes and Golovkin will show up in Beijing, presenting a "reunion feast" for all boxing fans.
On May 25th and 26th, an IBF membership meeting and all kinds of professional seminars will be held. All these professional meetings are aimed at providing communication, sharing experiences and promoting friendships etc.
