IMS Research Study: ISS Has Second Largest Market Share of Latin America's Open Video Management Systems Vendors
WOODBRIDGE, N.J., Jan. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Intelligent Security Systems (ISS), a leader in video management and image analytic software, announced today that the results of a recent IMS Research study shows the company as having the second largest market share of Latin America's Open Video Management Systems (VMS) vendors. ISS currently has a significant share of that market, according to the "Latin America CCTV and Video Surveillance – 2010 Edition" report from IMS Research.
Alastair Hayfield, Research Manager at IMS Research, said, "ISS continues to perform strongly in the South American market, despite the worldwide economic slowdown."
IMS Research has seen a continuous rise in the call for Open VMS solutions in Latin America, and around the world, and based on past patterns of growth, expects the demand to continue its upward surge.
ISS has its roots in space technology, which has led to the development of software with highly advanced algorithms. This in turn makes possible a level of intelligence, flexibility and accuracy for video management and analytics that previously was only available for government and military applications. In addition, another key advantage that ISS offers over other vendors is that the analytics are embedded into the software, so that even if the customer does not require this feature at the time, it can easily be switched on when it is needed. This saves both money and time in the long run, as analytics is not a simple add on and dealing with a different vendor for that can be costly, time consuming, and disruptive.
The "all-in-one" approach of ISS also means that they can offer a great variety of solutions, including Face Capture & Recognition, Traffic Monitoring, Transit & Cargo Container Recognition, License Plate Recognition, and Object Tracking, as well as dedicated solutions for POS (shrinkage detection) and ATM systems.
"We are very pleased with the results of this report," said Aluisio Figueiredo, Chief Operating Officer of ISS. "Beyond the uniqueness of our solutions, we have always had a very hands on approach with our clients, and that is a crucial part of our success. Throughout Latin America, our market has largely grown through word of mouth. Our sales force continues to expand there, and we expect even greater growth in the coming years."
ISS offices in Brazil offer sales and technical support as well as training, while sales and technical support are also offered at their offices in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Ecuador.
